At Campfire & Classics, you can expect a cozy and memorable night under the stars. Kick things off by learning how to build the perfect campfire, then sit back and enjoy a delicious campfire meal. We’ll set the mood with an outdoor screening of Love Jones, adding a touch of nostalgia to the evening. Chairs and fire pits will be provided, so all you need to do is relax and soak in the atmosphere. Plus, there will be classic campfire treats to enjoy and exclusive Shades of Adventure swag to take home. Get ready for a night of warmth, good vibes, and unforgettable moments!

How We Adventure

At Shades of Adventure (SOA), we offer diverse services designed to inspire and connect people with the outdoors. Our work spans three primary areas:

SOA Outdoor Academy

We provide customizable workshops ranging from quick 1-2 hour sessions to immersive overnight experiences. Clients share their needs through a simple form, and we design tailored programs to meet those requirements. Whether it’s a short skill-building workshop or a multi-day adventure, we create unique experiences for each group. Pricing varies based on the program’s length and details.

Outdoor Academy

Shades of Adventure seeks to address key issues faced by communities regarding outdoor engagement. Firstly, it aims to bridge the gap in access and representation within outdoor spaces, recognizing the barriers faced by minority groups. Secondly, the program addresses the lack of cultural awareness and appreciation for the outdoors, promoting understanding and respect for diverse cultural practices and traditions in nature. Additionally, Shades of Adventure endeavors to raise awareness about environmental sustainability and conservation, empowering participants to become stewards of the environment for youths and adults. Our Outdoor Academy sessions are tailored to furnish participants with fundamental outdoor competencies and is an outstanding opportunity for enthusiasts of all levels to refine their outdoor skills and knowledge across a spectrum of activities.

Who are we

We are Sonya and Taressa, besties, outdoor sidekicks and founders of the new organization; Shades of Adventure, where our mission is to empower individuals from all backgrounds to explore and appreciate nature and the outdoors through a wide range of educational and recreational activities. We aim to break down barriers to outdoor access and enrich lives through connection to nature, community engagement, and environmental stewardship. Through our programs, we strive to create a welcoming community that encourages lifelong engagement with the outdoors. At one point, neither of us considered ourselves outdoorsy or adventurous, but through the years we have both developed our own unique passion for the outdoors and recognized that we are very adventurous, but in our own conservative ways. With this in mind, we’ve coined the tagline “Color the Outdoors, Your Adventure, Your Way”
